 
McDonald's commitment to animal welfare is a global effort. At McDonald's Canada, we are committed to working with our suppliers and industry experts in establishing an environment of ongoing improvement in this area. We are committed to respecting the McDonald's Global Animal Welfare Guiding Principles, which were put in place by our global company in 1999. There are many recent examples of standards that McDonald's Canada has implemented since the Guiding Principles were adopted five years ago. We participate fully in an established worldwide program of technical standards and comprehensive audit procedures to implement these guiding principles in beef processing plants. Our animal welfare program is an ongoing process of study, consultation, and innovative improvement. To guide our efforts, McDonald's has established the industry's first independent expert Animal Welfare Council. |
